CHILD PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDING
Child protection and safeguarding is central to RYS practice. We actively monitor welfare of children who use our service, report children of concern to the relevant social care systems and support them to access the psychological and legal support they need.
EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP
Education is not only a process of learning curriculum subjects at RYS we embed education into our projects as means to establish routines, and structure, critical thinking and exploration of topics outside young people's migratory practice.
PROTECTING CHILDREN'S RIGHTS
Promoting and protecting children's rights are at the centre of what we do. We actively ensure children and young people are aware of their rights as children and as refugees in addition to working within a collective of NGOs to collect data and compile reports evidencing the unacceptable situations children are facing in Europe.
SAFE SPACES AND OUTREACH
From inception, RYS has strived to create safe and secure spaces for children to be children and for young adults a place to evaluate their choices.
We create areas where children and young people can access sports and art activities run by educational and child protection professionals.
PROMOTING DURABLE SOLUTIONS FOR ASYLUM
At RYS we know that for the young people we work with, the decision to leave home and travel across continents and oceans is never taken lightly. We work with them directly to build trusting relationships and facilitate access to legal support with the aim of reaching durable solutions for their asylum claims.
